Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. She began by releasing funny, well-written lyrics in rap that dealt with topics like race and sexual orientation. She then expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was through the instrument of trumpet. Then, she started traditional and hip-hop training. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She majored both in women's study and journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. After graduating, it wasn't until when she decided to turn her attention on music. The song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet in the year 2012. It eventually made it on her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was an additional project. She decided to pursue acting careers following the completion of her previous two projects, as an author and musician. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough role was in Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
